In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2023, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, carbon imports dropped sharply to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate noticeable growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2022 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then declined rapidly in the following year.
Imports by Country
China (X tons), Russia (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) were the main suppliers of carbon imports to Hungary, together comprising X% of total imports. Poland, Egypt, India and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.
