The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the production volume increased by 190% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production reached the maximum level at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, production failed to regain momentum.

Exports in the EU

In 2022, approx. X tons of textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing were exported in the European Union; with a decrease of -15.6% against the previous year's figure. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 20%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, textile tubing exports declined to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Exports by Country

France (X tons) and Germany (X tons) represented roughly 45% of total exports in 2022. The Netherlands (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 14% share, followed by Poland (10%), Spain (10%) and Austria (4.8%). The Czech Republic (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +30.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest textile tubing supplying countries in the European Union were Germany ($X), France ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), together comprising 61% of total exports.

The Netherlands, with a CAGR of +24.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per ton, rising by 2.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the export price increased by 6.3%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+1.4%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in the EU

Textile tubing imports reduced modestly to X tons in 2022, with a decrease of -4.3% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 25%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2021, and then reduced slightly in the following year.

In value terms, textile tubing imports contracted to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +23.3% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then fell slightly in the following year.

The purchases of the twelve major importers of textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing, namely Germany, Poland, Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, Romania, France, Hungary, Sweden, Austria and Portugal, represented more than two-thirds of total import.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Denmark (with a CAGR of +19.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest textile tubing importing markets in the European Union were Germany ($X), Poland ($X) and Italy ($X), together accounting for 34% of total imports. The Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, France, Sweden, Austria, Hungary, Romania and Portugal lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 51%.

Hungary, with a CAGR of +19.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in the European Union amounted to $X per ton, growing by 1.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a perceptible slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the import price increased by 11%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per ton), while Romania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Romania (+4.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
