Crispbread Market Size in Eastern Europe

The East European crispbread market rose sharply to $X in 2021, picking up by 12% against the previous year. The market value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, crispbread exports expanded markedly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 74% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Russia (X tons), Lithuania (X tons), Poland (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) was the main exporter of crispbread in Eastern Europe, committing 84% of total export. It was distantly followed by Bulgaria (X tons), making up a 4.6% share of total exports. The following exporters - Belarus (X tons) and Moldova (X tons) - each amounted to a 6.5% share of total exports.

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 11% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.8%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while Bulgaria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
