Bearing Market Size in CIS

The CIS bearing market dropped to $X in 2020, waning by -X% against the previous year. Overall, consumption recorded a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, the market attained the peak level at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, bearing production fell remarkably to $X in 2020 estimated in export prices. In general, production saw a drastic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production attained the peak level at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, production remained at a lower figure.

The countries with the highest volumes of bearing production in 2020 were Russia (X tonnes) and Kazakhstan (X tonnes).

From 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Kazakhstan.

In 2020, the amount of ball or roller bearings exported in the CIS fell modestly to X tonnes, waning by -X% compared with 2019 figures. Total exports indicated a slight expansion from 2007 to 2020: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, exports increased by +X% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tonnes in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, bearing exports reduced to $X in 2020. In general, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Exports by Country

In 2020, Russia (X tonnes) was the main exporter of ball or roller bearings, mixing up X% of total exports. Kazakhstan (X tonnes) took a X% share (based on tonnes) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Belarus (X%).

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Kazakhstan, while exports for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In value terms, Russia ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Belarus ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2020, together comprising X% of total exports.

Russia saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.

Export Prices by Country

The bearing export price in the CIS stood at $X per tonne in 2020, which is down by -X% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a pronounced descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2011 when the export price increased by X% y-o-y. The level of export peaked at $X per tonne in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per tonne), while Belarus ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia, while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS

Bearing imports expanded to X tonnes in 2020, growing by X% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, imports showed notable growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tonnes in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, bearing imports reduced to $X in 2020. In general, imports enjoyed a tangible expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of X% y-o-y. The level of import peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Russia was the largest importer of ball or roller bearings in the CIS, with the volume of imports resulting at X tonnes, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2020. Kazakhstan (X tonnes) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Belarus (X%). Uzbekistan (X tonnes) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2007 to 2020, average annual rates of growth with regard to bearing imports into Russia stood at +X%. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+X%) and Uzbekistan (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kazakhstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2020. By contrast, Belarus (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Russia (+X p.p.) and Kazakhstan (+X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2007-2020, the share of Belarus (-X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported ball or roller bearings in the CIS, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Kazakhstan ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Belarus, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Russia stood at +X%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kazakhstan (+X% per year) and Belarus (-X% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2020, the bearing import price in the CIS amounted to $X per tonne, waning by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a mild downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the import price increased by X% year-to-year. The level of import peaked at $X per tonne in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2020, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Uzbekistan ($X per tonne) and Belarus ($X per tonne), while Russia ($X per tonne) and Kazakhstan ($X per tonne) were amongst the lowest.
