The exports peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, calculator exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 75%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
France (X units) was the main destination for calculator exports from Belgium, with a 63% share of total exports. Moreover, calculator exports to France exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Netherlands (X units), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Germany (X units), with a 5.6% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to France amounted to -11.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (-4.1% per year) and Germany (+9.9% per year).
In value terms, France ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Germany ($X) were the largest markets for calculator exported from Belgium worldwide, with a combined 62% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Luxembourg, Spain, Italy and Hungary, which together accounted for a further 10%.
Hungary, with a CAGR of +134.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average calculator export price amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -27.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 252%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to France ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (-0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2021, approx. X units of electronic calculators and pocket-size data recording, reproducing and displaying machines with calculating functions were imported into Belgium; growing by 25% compared with the previous year. Overall, imports, however, recorded a noticeable setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 41%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, calculator imports reached $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 77% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

China (X units), France (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) were the main suppliers of calculator imports to Belgium, with a combined 68% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by France (with a CAGR of +3.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, France ($X), China ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) constituted the largest calculator suppliers to Belgium, together comprising 70% of total imports. Germany lagged somewhat behind, accounting for a further 6.7%.
