Beeswax Market Size in Austria

For the third year in a row, the Austrian beeswax market recorded growth in sales value, which increased by X% to $X in 2019. Over the period under review, consumption showed prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2009 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Beeswax consumption peaked in 2019 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, beeswax exports shrank to $X in 2019. Overall, exports, however, posted a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. As a result, exports reached the peak of $X. From 2009 to 2019, the growth exports failed to regain the momentum.

Montenegro (X tonnes), Slovenia (X tonnes) and Switzerland (X tonnes) were the main destinations of beeswax exports from Austria, together accounting for X% of total exports. Germany and the Czech Republic lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the Czech Republic (+X% per year), while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Montenegro ($X), Germany ($X) and Switzerland ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for beeswax exported from Austria worldwide, together comprising X% of total exports. There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2019, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Slovenia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Beeswax imports into Austria rose remarkably to X tonnes in 2019, surging by X% compared with the previous year. Overall, imports enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2019 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
