Beeswax Market Size in the U.S.

The U.S. beeswax market dropped sharply to $X in 2020, with a decrease of -X% against the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, recorded a noticeable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, the market reached the peak level at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2020, consumption remained at a lower figure.

Beeswax Production in the U.S.

In value terms, beeswax exports shrank modestly to $X in 2020. in general, exports, however, recorded perceptible growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, exports hit record highs at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Canada (X tonnes), Germany (X tonnes) and Chile (X tonnes) were the main destinations of beeswax exports from the U.S., together comprising X% of total exports.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Chile (+X% per year), while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for beeswax exported from the U.S. were Canada ($X), Germany ($X) and South Korea ($X), together comprising X% of total exports. Mexico, Chile, China, France, the Netherlands, the UK and Australia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X the main countries of destination, Chile recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, supplies from abroad of beeswax decreased by -X% to X tonnes, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a measured increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2012 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, beeswax imports contracted dramatically to $X in 2020. Overall, imports, however, saw resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

Imports by Country

China (X tonnes), Viet Nam (X tonnes) and Tanzania (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of beeswax imports to the U.S., with a combined X% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Canada, Argentina, India and Togo, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in India, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China ($X), Viet Nam ($X) and Tanzania ($X) were the largest beeswax suppliers to the U.S., together comprising X% of total imports.

Tanzania recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average beeswax import price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, stabilizing at the previous year. in general, import price indicated a temperate increase from 2007 to 2020: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, beeswax import price decreased by -X% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 when the average import price increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per tonne in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2020, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. in 2020, the highest prices were recorded for prices from Tanzania ($X per tonne) and Canada ($X per tonne), while the price for India ($X per tonne) and China ($X per tonne) were amongst the lowest.
