Winding Wire Price in the United States (CIF) - 2023
The average winding wire import price stood at $10,317 per ton in September 2023, dropping by -5.4% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 6.1% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $11,771 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($35,733 per ton), while the price for Japan ($3,281 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Winding Wire Price in the United States (FOB) - 2023
The average winding wire export price stood at $11,017 per ton in September 2023, with an increase of 7.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average export price increased by 11% m-o-m. The export price peaked in September 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($20,083 per ton), while the average price for exports to Costa Rica ($4,095 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Winding Wire Imports in the United States
Winding wire imports into the United States rose modestly to 59K tons in 2022, increasing by 4.5% on the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years.
