In July 2023, the average waferboard import price amounted to $787 per thousand cubic meters, falling by -5.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 an increase of 10% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1.0 per cubic meter. From December 2022 to July 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Chile ($871 per thousand cubic meters), while the price for China ($456 per thousand cubic meters) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ecuador (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average waferboard export price amounted to $799 per cubic meter, which is down by -29.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a temperate expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 123%. The export price peaked at $1,134 per cubic meter in 2021, and then declined markedly in the following year.
