Video Monitor Price in Canada (CIF) - 2022
The average video monitor import price stood at $201 per unit in 2022, increasing by 1.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 22%. The import price peaked at $221 per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($296 per unit), while the price for China ($177 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Video Monitor Price in Canada (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average video monitor export price amounted to $250 per unit, waning by -5.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 20% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $475 per unit. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($538 per unit), while the average price for exports to Cuba ($147 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cuba (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Video Monitor Imports in Canada
In 2022, supplies from abroad of video monitors decreased by -3.3% to 4.6M units, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 19% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 5.5M units. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, video monitor imports reduced modestly to $929M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 7% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $944M, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
