Synthetic Yarn Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023

The average synthetic yarn import price stood at $6,157 per ton in July 2023, surging by 8.8% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 27% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $7,255 per ton. From January 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($19,960 per ton), while the price for Thailand ($1,792 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+10.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Synthetic Yarn Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023

In July 2023, the average synthetic yarn export price amounted to $8,532 per ton, shrinking by -6.1% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated strong growth from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +9.6% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, synthetic yarn export price decreased by -6.8% against May 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2022 an increase of 130% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $9,826 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($12,750 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($3,430 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+23.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Synthetic Yarn Imports in Poland

In 2022, the amount of yarn of synthetic or artificial staple fibers imported into Poland fell to 10K tons, waning by -9.9% on the year before. In general, imports saw a perceptible descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 8.2% against the previous year.

In value terms, synthetic yarn imports fell modestly to $62M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.8% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +43.2% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 44%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $63M, leveling off in the following year.

In value terms, synthetic yarn exports expanded markedly to $10M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a deep reduction.
