The average sulphites; thiosulphates import price stood at $449 per ton in September 2023, falling by -10.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a perceptible decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2023 when the average import price increased by 42% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $929 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to September 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Norway ($3,801 per ton), while the price for the United States ($391 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Guyana ($1,287 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States totaled $240 per ton.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Guyana (+23.4%).
