In June 2023, the average sulphides; of sodium export price amounted to $563 per ton, shrinking by -6.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 when the average export price increased by 14% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $655 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($704 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Africa ($439 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average sulphides; of sodium import price amounted to $137 per ton, falling by -46.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 59%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,487 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,521 per ton), while the price for Singapore ($75 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+10.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, sulphides; of sodium exports from China rose sharply to 313K tons, picking up by 12% against the year before. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.1% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
