The average export price for vegetables; potatoes (other than seed), fresh or chilleds stood at $129 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -27.2% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a mild increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for vegetables; potatoes (other than seed), fresh or chilleds decreased by -31.3% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the average export price increased by 75% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $188 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

In general, the import price, however, saw a pronounced curtailment. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $559 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($500 per ton), while the price for Iran ($100 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (-5.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the amount of vegetables; potatoes (other than seed), fresh or chilleds exported from Turkey declined sharply to 159K tons, waning by -40.1% compared with the year before. Overall, exports faced a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 111% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 265K tons, and then declined remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, exports of vegetables; potatoes (other than seed), fresh or chilleds reduced remarkably to $20M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a sharp reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 99%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $47M, and then shrank sharply in the following year.
