Stamping Foil Price in the United States (CIF) - 2022

The average stamping foil import price stood at $11,298 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -14.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 6.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $17,988 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($33,445 per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($7,069 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Stamping Foil Price in the United States (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average stamping foil export price amounted to $49,078 per ton, picking up by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 93%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($1,007,961 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($12,823 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+47.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Stamping Foil Imports in the United States

Stamping foil imports into the United States surged to 8.1K tons in 2022, rising by 20% compared with 2021 figures. In general, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +19.7% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +78.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 49%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

In value terms, stamping foil imports rose slightly to $92M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +8.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 35%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
