Sparkling Wine Price in Croatia (CIF) - 2023

In June 2023, the average sparkling wine import price amounted to $8.3 per litre, reducing by -1.5% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, posted a temperate increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 95% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $11.9 per litre in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($34.3 per litre), while the price for Slovenia ($4.5 per litre) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+4.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Sparkling Wine Price in Croatia (FOB) - 2022

The average sparkling wine export price stood at $14 per litre in 2022, waning by -38.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a perceptible slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 52%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $28 per litre in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($67 per litre), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($3.5 per litre) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+10.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Sparkling Wine Imports in Croatia

In 2022, the amount of sparkling wine imported into Croatia dropped dramatically to 2.1M litres, with a decrease of -30.4% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports saw a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 67% against the previous year. Imports peaked at 3.4M litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, sparkling wine imports contracted notably to $14M in 2022. Overall, imports saw a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 56%. Imports peaked at $22M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Sparkling Wine Exports in Croatia

In 2022, overseas shipments of sparkling wine decreased by -34.1% to 84K litres, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, exports continue to indicate a abrupt descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 12% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 143K litres. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, sparkling wine exports dropped dramatically to $1.2M in 2022. Overall, exports faced a significant contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 70%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $3.9M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
