Sesame Oil Price in Canada (CIF) - 2023
In September 2023, the average sesame oil import price amounted to $6,094 per ton, which is down by -4.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 24% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $6,860 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Japan ($6,930 per ton), while the price for India ($2,860 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sesame Oil Price in Canada (FOB) - 2022
The average sesame oil export price stood at $4,553 per ton in 2022, jumping by 51% against the previous year. In general, the export price enjoyed a strong expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 181%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4,790 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($4,982 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($844 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Sesame Oil Imports in Canada
