Pulses Price in Panama (CIF) - 2022
The average pulses import price stood at $1,298 per ton in 2022, surging by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, pulses import price increased by +56.1% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,601 per ton), while the price for Peru ($782 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belize (+22.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pulses Price in Panama (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average pulses export price amounted to $620 per ton, which is down by -21.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a abrupt contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 26%. The export price peaked at $1,663 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($5,110 per ton), while the average price for exports to Grenada ($18 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+100.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Pulses Imports in Panama
