Price for Yoghurt and Fermented Milk in Argentina (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average yoghurt and fermented milk import price amounted to $930 per ton, waning by -40.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $2,604 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for South Korea.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for South Korea amounted to +14.7% per year.

Price for Yoghurt and Fermented Milk in Argentina (FOB) - 2022

The average yoghurt and fermented milk export price stood at $1,624 per ton in 2022, which is down by -14.3% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.9%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average export price increased by 32% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,894 per ton in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Paraguay ($2,499 per ton), while the average price for exports to Uruguay ($1,222 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Paraguay (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Yoghurt and Fermented Milk in Argentina

For the third year in a row, Argentina recorded decline in overseas purchases of yoghurt and fermented milk, which decreased by -92.8% to 10 tons in 2022. In general, imports saw a sharp setback. The smallest decline of -11.9% was in 2020.

In value terms, yoghurt and fermented milk imports contracted notably to $9.7K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a sharp reduction. The smallest decline of -23.7% was in 2021.
