Price for Wool, Not Carded or Combed in Vietnam (CIF) - 2022
The average import price for wool, not carded or combed stood at $2,881 per ton in 2022, almost unchanged from the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 57% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $8,229 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($3,700 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($1,014 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Australia (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sri Lanka ($38,210 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($699 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sri Lanka (+9.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -14.4% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 104%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 43 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, wool, not carded or combed exports shrank to $52K in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +18.5% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +66.4% against 2019 indices.
