The average import price for wood charcoal (including shell or nut charcoal), whether or not agglomerated stood at $522 per ton in July 2023, growing by 7.5% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a noticeable contraction. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $656 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($950 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($254 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
