In March 2022, the average import price for wadding; other articles thereof, of man-made fibreses amounted to $7,080 per ton, reducing by -13.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a perceptible decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2021 when the average import price increased by 59% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $10,350 per ton in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to March 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($11,782 per ton), while the price for Bulgaria ($4,011 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+7.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In March 2022, the average export price for wadding; other articles thereof, of man-made fibreses amounted to $5,137 per ton, picking up by 3.7% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated prominent growth from March 2021 to March 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.6% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on March 2022 figures, export price for wadding; other articles thereof, of man-made fibreses increased by +94.5% against September 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2021 an increase of 55% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in March 2022.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($11,091 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia stood at $4,690 per ton.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+5.9%).
