In December 2022, the average import price for vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen amounted to $1,319 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a mild contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 an increase of 1.8% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $1,641 per ton in December 2021; however, from January 2022 to December 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($1,848 per ton), while the price for the United States ($1,093 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (+0.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average export price for vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen amounted to $944 per ton, growing by 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a perceptible decline. The export price peaked at $1,423 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($5,114 per ton), while the average price for exports to Saudi Arabia ($534 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (+11.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, approx. 13K tons of vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen were imported into Kuwait; increasing by 12% compared with the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 47%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 15K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, imports of vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen rose significantly to $22M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 36%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $24M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of failed to regain momentum.
