The average export price for vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen stood at $1,702 per ton in March 2022, dropping by -6.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2022 when the average export price increased by 10% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,817 per ton, and then fell in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($2,586 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($878 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+0.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2021 when the average import price increased by 16% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $1,360 per ton in October 2021; however, from November 2021 to March 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,565 per ton), while the price for Thailand ($1,175 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
