In 2022, the average export price for vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen amounted to $1,593 per ton, which is down by -28.4% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 52%. The export price peaked at $2,224 per ton in 2021, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($4,650 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($284 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (+12.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,715 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($1,719 per ton), while the price for India ($350 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
