In September 2023, the average import price for mollusc preparations; cuttle fish and squid, prepared or preserveds amounted to $7,336 per ton, increasing by 3.3% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 14% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in September 2023.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Peru ($10,908 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($7,222 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
