Price for Tower and Portal Cranes in Germany (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average tower and portal cranes export price amounted to $172,816 per unit, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a temperate expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average export price increased by 61%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $174,150 per unit in 2021, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($266,120 per unit), while the average price for exports to Poland ($72,112 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Egypt (+47.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Price for Tower and Portal Cranes in Germany (CIF) - 2023
In December 2023, the average tower and portal cranes import price amounted to $202K per unit, increasing by 79% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a mild expansion from December 2022 to December 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2023 figures, tower and portal cranes import price increased by +79.4% against November 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 an increase of 108% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $210K per unit; afterwards, it flattened through to December 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($906K per unit), while the price for Switzerland ($10,626 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+18.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Tower and Portal Cranes in Germany
In 2022, the amount of tower cranes and portal or pedestal jib cranes exported from Germany fell to 2.1K units, approximately equating 2021. Overall, exports showed a abrupt shrinkage. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at 3.9K units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
