Price for Tobacco; "Homogenised" or "Reconstituted" in Kazakhstan (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average tobacco; "homogenised" or "reconstituted" import price amounted to $2,983 per ton, rising by 4.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a mild curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 18%. The import price peaked at $3,582 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($3,397 per ton), while the price for Russia ($2,791 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

For the third consecutive year, Kazakhstan recorded decline in overseas purchases of tobacco; "homogenised" or "reconstituted"s, which decreased by -39.8% to 551 tons in 2022. In general, imports saw a deep downturn. The smallest decline of -0.7% was in 2020.
In value terms, tobacco; "homogenised" or "reconstituted" imports dropped notably to $1.6M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 13% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $2.6M, and then fell significantly in the following year.
