In December 2022, the average import price for sugar confectionery; (excluding chewing gum, including white chocolate), not containing cocoa amounted to $5,245 per ton, surging by 7.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 an increase of 8% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $5,457 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to December 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Japan ($10,922 per ton), while the price for Indonesia ($3,475 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked in December 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($7,645 per ton), while the average price for exports to Japan ($2,058 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
