In November 2023, the average import price for steel, stainless; (excluding cold-drawn or cold-rolled), tubes and pipes of circular cross-sectia amounted to $13,698 per ton, stabilizing at the previous month. In general, import price indicated a mild increase from December 2022 to November 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5% over the last eleven-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on November 2023 figures, import price for steel, stainless; (excluding cold-drawn or cold-rolled), tubes and pipes of circular cross-sectia increased by +30.6% against August 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 49% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $16,683 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to November 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Ukraine.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Germany amounted to +5.0% per month.

In 2022, the average export price for steel, stainless; (excluding cold-drawn or cold-rolled), tubes and pipes of circular cross-sectia amounted to $15,414 per ton, with an increase of 126% against the previous year. In general, the export price posted a tangible increase. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $32,856 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($17,565 per ton), while the average price for exports to Croatia ($6,779 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+13.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

After two years of decline, overseas purchases of steel, stainless; (excluding cold-drawn or cold-rolled), tubes and pipes of circular cross-sectia increased by 5.5% to 249 tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a drastic downturn.
In value terms, imports of steel, stainless; (excluding cold-drawn or cold-rolled), tubes and pipes of circular cross-sectia reached $2.3M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep setback.
