In November 2023, the average import price for stainless steel bars and rods, angles, shapes and sectionses amounted to $6,403 per ton, picking up by 3.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 20% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $8,213 per ton. From March 2023 to November 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Austria ($11,395 per ton), while the price for India ($3,787 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 13% against the previous month. The export price peaked in November 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($55,788 per ton), while the average price for exports to Portugal ($4,475 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+9.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
