The average import price for phenols or phenol-alcohols; halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives thereoves stood at $20,774 per ton in December 2023, waning by -7% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 148% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $47,971 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to December 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was India ($35,135 per ton), while the price for Germany ($7,677 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Overall, the export price posted a significant expansion. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($96,455 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malta ($6,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kazakhstan (+32.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
