The average import price for peat; (including peat litter), whether or not agglomerateds stood at $237 per ton in December 2023, declining by -7.4% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 18% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $293 per ton. From February 2023 to December 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belarus ($415 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($206 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $526 per ton, and then reduced notably in the following year.
