In March 2022, the average export price for nuts, edible; coconuts, in the inner shell (endocarp)s amounted to $269 per ton, rising by 5.8% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2021 an increase of 9.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure in March 2022.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($2,369 per ton), while the average price for exports to China stood at $268 per ton.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+20.5%).
