In October 2023, the average import price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds amounted to $4,793 per ton, increasing by 2.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 4.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $6,081 per ton in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to October 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($5,145 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($4,547 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+11.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
