In June 2023, the average import price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds amounted to $6,008 per ton, leveling off at the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 27% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $6,606 per ton. From November 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Vietnam ($6,067 per ton) and Nigeria ($5,820 per ton), while the price for Benin ($4,890 per ton) and Cote d'Ivoire ($5,456 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Nigeria (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
