The average import price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds stood at $1,765 per ton in 2022, waning by -27.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a noticeable setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average import price increased by 29% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,979 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mozambique ($3,368 per ton), while the price for India ($664 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+8.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked at $2,255 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($2,209 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($1,290 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uzbekistan (+1.5%).
