The average import price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds stood at $6,469 per ton in October 2023, declining by -15% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 11% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $8,398 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to October 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Vietnam.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Slovakia amounted to +2.4% per month.

In 2022, the average export price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds amounted to $8,213 per ton, dropping by -21.1% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a mild increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds decreased by -49.0% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 44%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $16,097 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($16,758 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ireland ($7,019 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovenia (+11.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 22% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $7M, and then declined in the following year.
