In October 2023, the average import price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds amounted to $6,506 per ton, rising by 3.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 28% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $7,331 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to October 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the countries with the highest prices were India ($8,106 per ton) and Cote d'Ivoire ($6,523 per ton), while the price for Nigeria ($5,752 per ton) and Vietnam ($6,474 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In October 2023, the average export price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds amounted to $9,336 per ton, with an increase of 20% against the previous month. Over the period from October 2022 to October 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $9,346 per ton in August 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to October 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Serbia ($10,081 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($5,845 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the amount of nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds imported into Germany reached 60K tons, approximately mirroring the previous year.
