In October 2023, the average import price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds amounted to $8,222 per ton, growing by 21% against the previous month. Over the period from October 2022 to October 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 25% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $8,860 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to October 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the countries with the highest prices were the Netherlands ($9,167 per ton) and Lithuania ($8,948 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($7,400 per ton) and Finland ($8,214 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds amounted to $6,404 per ton, falling by -58% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 134%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $15,247 per ton in 2021, and then reduced sharply in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Finland ($16,787 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($6,188 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Latvia (+52.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

As a result, imports attained the peak of $4.3M, and then contracted significantly in the following year.
