Price for Non-Woven Glass Fibre Articles in Vietnam (CIF) - 2022

The average non-woven glass fibre articles import price stood at $2,263 per ton in 2022, falling by -7.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 46%. The import price peaked at $3,015 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Japan ($2,535 per ton) and the United States ($2,535 per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($2,149 per ton) and China ($2,165 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average non-woven glass fibre articles export price amounted to $6,687 per ton, jumping by 20% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a tangible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 73%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($9,214 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cambodia ($3,242 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (+22.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Non-Woven Glass Fibre Articles in Vietnam

In 2022, approx. 19K tons of non-woven glass fibre webs, felts, mattresses and boards were imported into Vietnam; with an increase of 1.6% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +17.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -1.5% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 63% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 19K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, non-woven glass fibre articles imports shrank to $42M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated strong growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.9% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +59.8% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 50% against the previous year.
