Price for Non-Woven Glass Fibre Articles in Portugal (CIF) - 2021
The average non-woven glass fibre articles import price stood at $2,862 per ton in November 2021, falling by -11.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a measured increase from November 2020 to November 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.1% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on November 2021 figures, non-woven glass fibre articles import price decreased by -33.5% against September 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2021 an increase of 130% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $4,303 per ton. From October 2021 to November 2021, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2021, the country with the highest price was France ($7,380 per ton), while the price for China ($1,532 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2020 to November 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+7.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Price for Non-Woven Glass Fibre Articles in Portugal (FOB) - 2022
The average non-woven glass fibre articles export price stood at $2,114 per ton in 2022, surging by 4.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a noticeable slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 138%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $7,339 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($13,101 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($1,748 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Angola (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Imports of Non-Woven Glass Fibre Articles in Portugal
In 2022, overseas purchases of non-woven glass fibre webs, felts, mattresses and boards decreased by -28.5% to 5K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 124% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 7K tons, and then contracted notably in the following year.
In value terms, non-woven glass fibre articles imports declined markedly to $14M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 134% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $19M, and then shrank markedly in the following year.
