In 2022, the average import price for mushrooms and truffles, other than of the genus "agaricus" amounted to $2,375 per ton, waning by -6.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 122%. The import price peaked at $6,396 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($4,479 per ton), while the price for Kenya ($181 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Rwanda (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average export price for mushrooms and truffles, other than of the genus "agaricus" stood at $11,786 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 4.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by 211%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Democratic Republic of the Congo ($28,933 per ton), while the average price for exports to Switzerland ($1,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Democratic Republic of the Congo (+21.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Mushrooms and Truffles, Other than of the Genus "Agaricus" in Uganda
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of mushrooms and truffles, other than of the genus "agaricus", when their volume increased by 138% to 1.3 tons. In general, imports, however, showed a dramatic descent.
