In July 2023, the average import price for meat of bovine animals; frozen amounted to $5,484 per ton, shrinking by -14.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 32% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $6,436 per ton in June 2023, and then dropped in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Poland ($8,742 per ton), while the price for Italy ($2,682 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In July 2023, the average export price for meat of bovine animals; frozen amounted to $6,721 per ton, growing by 1.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 17% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $7,254 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Hungary ($18,404 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($2,155 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+92.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, imports of meat of bovine animals; frozen into the Czech Republic contracted modestly to 5.4K tons, almost unchanged from the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
