The average export price for meat of bovine animals; frozen stood at $6,381 per ton in 2022, picking up by 4.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced setback. The export price peaked at $9,267 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, the average import price for meat of bovine animals; frozen amounted to $4,820 per ton, increasing by 2.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a perceptible contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average import price increased by 38%. The import price peaked at $6,845 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($6,864 per ton), while the price for the United States ($3,516 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by New Zealand (+21.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
