In July 2023, the average export price for meat of bovine animals; frozen amounted to $4,849 per ton, increasing by 15% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 24% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $5,784 per ton. From November 2022 to July 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Qatar ($11,831 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lesotho ($2,427 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Overall, the import price showed a noticeable contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 67% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $4,684 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Botswana ($1,652 per ton), while the price for Australia ($696 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uruguay (-1.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
