Price for Meat of Bovine Animals; Frozen in Slovenia (CIF) - 2023

The average import price for meat of bovine animals; frozen stood at $8,160 per ton in September 2023, shrinking by -12.3% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 53% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $10,516 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($33,526 per ton), while the price for Lithuania ($5,917 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+13.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for meat of bovine animals; frozen amounted to $6,283 per ton, increasing by 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price enjoyed a moderate expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average export price increased by 82%. The export price peaked at $9,046 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($12,700 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($2,489 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Serbia (+65.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
