Price for Meat of Bovine Animals; Frozen in New Zealand (FOB) - 2023

In August 2023, the average export price for meat of bovine animals; frozen amounted to $4,594 per ton, which is down by -11% against the previous month. In general, the export price showed a perceptible decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 4.5% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $6,093 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($6,654 per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($3,598 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (-0.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $6,884 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
