The average export price for meat of bovine animals; fresh or chilled stood at $3,685 per ton in March 2022, falling by -16% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2021 when the average export price increased by 6.5% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $4,510 per ton in December 2021; however, from January 2022 to March 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In March 2022, the countries with the highest prices were Russia ($3,959 per ton) and Azerbaijan ($3,639 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($3,217 per ton) and Uzbekistan ($3,509 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Azerbaijan (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the import price showed a perceptible shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 103%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,904 per ton, and then contracted markedly in the following year.
