The average export price for leguminous vegetables; shelled or unshelled, fresh or chilleds stood at $2,577 per ton in December 2023, waning by -1.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 22% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $2,706 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to December 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($2,793 per ton), while the average price for exports to Macao SAR ($249 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+1.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $1,367 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
